2025 Air-Cooled Porsche Calendar: Photography That Celebrates the Journey Over Efficiency
Is a Photographer Who Doesn’t Print Their Work Really a Photographer?
If the answer is no, then I’ve only recently become one.
I picked up photography late in life, a hobby while working a corporate job that gradually evolved into a full time career. By then, everything was digital, both in the capture and distribution of images. But images living as 1's and 0's on a hard drive and the fleeting nature of online image sharing left me unsatisfied.
So, I decided to do something about it. I would print a thing and sell it.
The Road to Printing
Peter, of Flatsix Classics, has uncompromising taste and an obsession for building air cooled Porsches. Paired with my love of capturing them on camera it’s led to countless shoots over the years. We meet up, take out a car, and capture it in and around Vancouver. This endeavour (as I mention in the video) was a labour of love, completely inefficient in execution but a satisfying adventure precisely because of the inefficiency.
Why a Calendar?
This 2025 Air Cooled Porsche Calendar is, I hope, the first of many physical manifestations of my photography. In a time when companies are trying to convince us to strap screens ever closer to our faces, I'm keen on creating something that does the opposite.
Why It Matters
This calendar is a reminder that not everything needs to be quick or efficient to be worthwhile, it’s often actually quite the opposite. Whether it’s restoring a classic car, cooking a great meal, or creating a piece of art, the effort is often where the value lies.
